Ok folks, how about this, for a wee swarray and a wee swally...? Sirens of Titan, (Glasgow's very own west end choir), doin a medley of good summer stuff in Oran Mor. "A Midsummer Night's Dram" - a free dram on arrival! Evening of 20th June. oran-mor.co.uk/whats-on/a-midsummers-night-dram/(it's a Wednesday night... ) My sources tell me that it's a seated event, and there's also a post concert disco with Bobby Bluebell afterwards, included in the £10 ticket price. Embdy fancy this?

Sounds like a hoot, Westie, but I'm not in Glasgow that night either so I'll have to pass.
If you go, say hi to Piano Pete, he does the musical arrangements for Sirens of Titan.

You don't have to explain yersel, Nota! Sure hope, though, we can all manage a meet up over the summer at some point Me and Mr R suffer from the same affliction i.e w*rking silly hours. It's all totally out of kilter; those in work doing ever-longer hours for the same money while there's countless thousands unemployed. Mr R just got back from 6 x 20-hour days on a festival in Newcastle. Derigged at 5 this morning, then on a train to GLA at 9am. He's wearing his usual slightly-bewildered expression big-style... ;D Take care of yourself, Nota.

Ah Newcastle, spent many a stretched hour doon that way, working mental hours this time last year My record ever working hours was almost a year ago this month Started on friday at 0730, worked until 1730 on the Saturday then drove home, luckily the car had done the journey a few times and knew the way Latest gig isn't as bad if I stay thru in Embra jist a pain in the erse is the traffic, that makes it longer to get from the city centre to the motorway than it takes from the motorway to ma hoose

Wot, no tea-breaks? Isn't it amazing how freelance workers are expected to w*rk all hours while some pampered, privileged public sector employees get treated with kid gloves? I'm gearing up for 10 x 20 hour days at T again this year. My daily rate sounds just dandy--- before you take into account the actual hours I w*rk--and that I contribute what, £70 a day in tax and NI? I've no objection to being taxed or NI'd...but I do seriously object to carrying people who could be out grafting if they'd a mind to--but can't be arsed. AND PARTICULARLY feckers who evade paying their fair share.

I work 20 hour days and a 7 day week and get no lunch break and 30 seconds toilet break a week and all for 35p an hour before deductions! You don't know you're born!

Pah!
Soldiers nowadays have it easy.
In my day we'd march 7 weeks non-stop. Fight and win our battle, take and process our prisoners of war, march back to base and spend the next 3 weeks peeling spuds.
And all for 2/6.
