All newspapers and magazines were either employing or employing at arms length or buying from Hackers and everyone including TV media knew it. They just have not been caught!!

As a student I actually considered going into journalism for a career. Yes, I did! Hellish narrow escape for me when I decided to take my chances in the music industry instead...phew...
The two kinda dovetail at times but I've learned which ones to trust and who not to over the years.
I do believe, broadly, in press/media freedom but intrusions into a person's private life, no matter who they are, are not on, especially if conducted illegally, like phone hacking.
Transparency's all well and good but the papers have the power to take just about anyone out, on their owner's political whim. That's never gonna be right.

Phone hacking is a crime no matter WHO's responsible, don't you think, OZ? Pls share your knowledge of 'other papers' or individuals working for same, who've been similarly charged? Us 'lefties' desperately want to know.... I have no idea if theyhave been charged, Its pretty low on our general interest table but ex journos at the Sunday Mirror admitted they had done phone hacking OK??? It seems selective memories are in gear
