"Many Muslim students are averse to interest due to teachings in the Islamic faith - such interest derails accessibility to higher education"
Unbelievable.
... See if you're so feckin hidebound by yer Islamic faith? Fuck off out of higher education, ya feckin eejit. You have no place there and no business there.
When men speak ill of thee, live so as none may believe them.
Many Muslim students are averse to interest due to teachings in the Islamic faith
Only when it suits them. They don't seem to have a roblem ignoring their religion when making money in the corner shops
The selling of Alcohol is also forbidden. It is completely Haraam for Muslims to be trading in this trade. It is also forbidden to sell alcohol as part of your business. Grocers, Newsagents and Mini-Market traders should keep this in mind. Therefore, no question remains regarding trading in Off-Licences, Pubs or Public Houses. In selling of these in Take-Aways and Restaurants also is completely Haraam. Muslims should also not work or employ any of their family members in such Haraam Environments.
Yeah, like it's only Muslim students that'll be 'priced out of higher education' in English unis.....
G*d help us from all these well-resourced pressure groups who quote religious beliefs like they're some kind of special case.
Who precisely is championing the rights of indigenous non-religious kids from the UKE who've studied hard and done enough to get to Uni, eh?
Equality of opportunity is one thing; demanding concessions due to religious belief is just frankly ridiculous. As ever those that shout the loudest...it stinks IMHO.

You know that all of these corner shops are run by muslims? Wow! As for these students, well done them. Any action that can derail these ridiculous policies needs our support, not looked at as another way to bash people because of their religion.

Why?
Religion is a man created thing jist like eduncashun.
Usuary, which is the "moslem" tenet here (which apprently was outlawed in kristyanity tae) but apparently the kristyins decidedd it wisnae good money makin practice and "furgot" aboot it. Noo tehe moslems huvnee (when it soots them) so they start shoutin aboot it.
Ah would be merr inclined tae listen if they could show that they follow the Quaran tae ra letter rather than jist the "easy" bits - same wae they other hypocrits ra kristyins(all flavours and sub-cults like RCs, proddies)

Talk about missing the point. I couldn't care if these were Jedi Knights just as long as they have a strategy for derailing the loony policies of this Govt. A wonderful deflection from this opportunity to give the Govt something to think about is to turn this into a muslim bashing session.

It's the hypocrosy that annoys me
maggs, I'd really like to know where you got that interesting wee nugget...? Sounds like there'd be a lot more of interest to read there...

I suggest you try actually reading the story, because it's a fair assumption from this response that you surely haven't.

I read the story, I read Maggs response, which of those two did you not read; because again its clear you didn't. The points for the hard of thinking are: 1) just because the shopkeeper has dark skin doesn't make her or him a muslim (check for them Singh surnames) and so unless you know the shopkeeper is muslim and selling alcohol its an ill-informed tabloid generalisation; and 2), turning this into a muslim bashing exercise lets the tories and their puppies off the hook.
If you don't make your point clearly - and you didn't, as usual - don't be suprised when folk miss it.
I made my point clearly, the issue for you is its just dawned on you what the bigger picture is and you now regret your initial tabloid reaction.
Ra only point yoo huv made clearly is that yoo ur only here tae coz triuble and be a pain in ra erse, both of which yoo ur piss poor at byraway.
I notice how yoo huvnae commented on ra antics ovra Green Brigade(and thur Ultras sub-sekshun) wae thur illiterate banners, over on ra Sellick/Poppies thread - cat hot yer tongue?
Noo mibbe you'll get roon tae actually being constructive, yoo may even find that yoo will even be capable of not spoutin pish n shite either
Ah see yoo huvnae got roon tae spoutin mysogeny yet.
