JOY JOY JOY! It's the utterly tremendous and deeply lovely Roddy Frame! Here's a wee taster before the show on Sunday: with (ahem!) excellent sound mix from Mr Rolo www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p01l8nlh

Ok, try this link instead ;D Roddy Frame, IMO, one of the best songwriters Scotland's produced in the last 30 years, burst on to the scene at 17 with his band Aztec Camera, and a wisdom beyond his years. And... a lovely unassuming, modest guy. At Glasgow's Royal Concert Hall Dec 4th, for any fans out there. Mr R thoroughly enjoyed his day's recording with them last week for BBC Scotland. bbc.in/1cIQUkq

I'll ask the wean to look into it too, Oz ;D Stuff like that's chicken feed to wur weans. Meanwhile, m'dear, here's a wee clip of Roddy plus my (almost favourite) Antipodean. In whose presence I'm a gibbering wreck. Oh and some other bloke out of 10cc. Same song I posted earlier: www.youtube.com/watch?v=yjoYxJ7b6hM

Yeah. Born and raised in NZ. I reckon that's Antipodean ;D Split Enz I think were mostly Kiwis, including his bro Tim. Crowded House, though: Nick (bass) and the late Hester (drums) both Aussies. Tim was briefly in the band. There was a terrible stushie at King Tut's one night ( I just happened to be present, quelle surprise ) when the Finn Bros had a fisticuffs (ok, musical differences, backstage) and Tim disappeared down St Vincent St in an almighty huff. I believe they've made it up since. ;D While the wean was out guising Hallowe'en I was on Neilfinn.com watching the live podcast of new songs from his latest: great string arrangements on this, and Neil just being Neil. Title track to the new record, Dizzy Heights, is just SO good. www.youtube.com/watch?v=M6rgSfeqZG4
