... happening this very Friday. Sutheralnds is the great wee restaurant in the Argyll Hotel: "KILTWALK - GREAT WALL OF CHINA FUNDRAISERThis very Friday 20th July 2012, at a suggested entry price of just £3.50, in Sutherlands Bar, downstairs at the Argyll Hotel, 973 Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow, G3 7TQ. (i.e. next door to the Snaffle Bit, corner of Gray St / Sauchiehall) This fundraiser is hosted by Craig Haggis McFarlane, who will be one of 40 Kiltwalkers, heading over to walk (and pipe ) a full 12 days all along the Great Wall of China, raising much needed cash for Scottish children's charities. Friday's fundraiser will consist of Piping from a few special pipers, highland dancing, Gàidhlig song, good old Scottish prose, with loads, loads more besides, not forgetting a grand raffle."

Instead of spending dosh on going tae China - why dont they just give the money tae charities
Therz an ersehole (bible bashing twat) doon oor way who started a charity tae give sick weans a good time, they ur afftae walk te great wall of china tae - They huv raised thousands to pay for it - they could justgive that to teh weans charity instead
This fukker sees charity as his business interest, getting his "expenses" paid

Good for them! I've aye thought you had to be fluent in Gaelic to drink in Sutherlands, and the other bars on that block..... Hollowhorn took me to the Ben Nevis one night (think we'd been at a gig in the SECC, can't for the life of me remember what....) there was a mighty sesh going on in the corner. I don't remember quite how I got home......

Born in the 60s he was a victim of thalidomide, and has no arms. He's paying his own travel costs and I don't have any issues with donating a few quid into the childrens' charity he's raising dosh for. Another cycled John o Groats to Lands End last year for Yorkhill. He paid his own accom costs too and every penny donated went to the charity. But I know what you mean about the ones that use donations to fund their travel and accom. There's a lot of that about
