I think it is the RC's that say give me a child until 7 and we'll have them for life. I wish more good women were running our country, the men so far have fucked up pretty badly with the bliar broon fiasco likely to be about the worst in recent history. we have a woman "running" ours and she has just about fucked up everything worst of all the economy. She has turned a $97 bill surplus into a $270 bill deficit When we win the next election it will be a very religious affair with the cabinet having one Abbot and 2 Bishops. Tony Abbot, Julie Bishop and Bronwyn Bishop (my MP and a great lady)

I wish more good women were running our country, the men so far have fucked up pretty badly with the bliar broon fiasco likely to be about the worst in recent history. Differing interpretations there, Bormes. I aye understood the quote as being about the attitudes and behaviour traits that are formed very early in life and that after those early influences it's very hard for a person to change their mindset. Re women in politics, the Westminster system is bloody hopeless when it comes to life-work balance. It simply doesn't work for women who are mothers as well as politicians. Late night sessions and ridiculous working hours, whereas the Scottish parliament takes much more account of those factors. What pisses me THE FECK OFF is the constant attacks on mothers who work. It's bloody rich that we are constantly made to feel guilty for not quite matching up to some men's view of perfection. Women do NOT work for 'pin money'. We work to pay our joint mortgages, our leccy bill, and to pay our share of the expense of bringing up our kids. We pay tax, we pay NI, we contribute in SO many other caring ways while being penalised by the high cost of childcare in this country. No man in a position of power is criticised for how he looks (ok apart from The Donald), no man is criticised for being a BAD FATHER because he works long hours. Hard working man=Provider Hard working woman= Predatory, ambitious ball breaker Getting my drift yet? ;D

Yeah different countries different attitudes. Mind you South Australia gave women the vote in 1857 so we are more used to ladies having power. On Federation in 1901 it was universal One of my Partners is/was a young NZ lady (now 56 --57 in January) no one critised her. In fact I was delighted when some of my crusty old clients started asking for her rather than me. Hate to say it but she is technically better than me . Best one was the Boss lady of a Nunnery who always asked for her a)because no worries about her entering the convent being female. Now thats sexism!!!! and b) not being a catholic she would not be browbeaten or co-erced by the church heirachy and would do as the boss-lady asked. They got on famously my partner refused to call the boss-lady "Mother" The Boss-lady told her to call her Anne
