Fantastic dinner for Mr Rolo's birthday tonight. It really is world-class, the food's unfailingly brilliant, in beautiful surroundings high up on the mezzanine, great, informal understated service. all with the smell of woodsmoke from the open fire in the bar. Utter joy all round. Had to smile at this pudding wine selection though. Attachments:

Mr Rolo got some lovely presents but best of all a phone call inviting him to work on a series of big festival gigs in South Africa. And another booking for Oman. Just as the clocks go back and the snow starts to fall in Scotland. Jammy bstrd! And the wean going off to Florida too Leaving me here in the bliddy freezin' engine room, getting up in the dark, coming home in the dark.. Trying really really hard to be happy for them both but you know? I'm just about in tears of righteous, chittering jealousy. ;D

He'll be nearly home by now then, Oz, with a few stories to tell nae doubt. ;D Mr Rolo's enroute for Cape Town. The itinerary for Day One sounds pretty daunting though Champagne PR breakfast on a private yacht followed by an afternoon coach trip around the SA wineries in the blazing heat. It's hell but somebody has to do it. <grrrrrr >
