Good for you !! We are still getting about 200 migrants a week from the UK Jings really, is that made up of families and individuals? I dont know it came from the Australian Bureau of Statistics that said last year we had just over 10,000 migrants from UK which is down on previous years. They didnt give split up or country of origin just total UK. Of these migrants approx 25% will return to UK for one reason or another. Just to confuse the issue half of these will return to Australia (boomerang poms)

With mindbogglingly inept timing, the Westminster government announced today it's considering giving MPs a 32% pay rise... While yesterday capping benefits to a rise of 1% in line with public service job pay restrictions. Are MP's not public servants then? All things considered though, I'd be OK about upping their salary to £85K provided that all 'expenses' are stopped, including claims for second homes in London, cheap mortgages and all the other perks like moat-cleaning and duck-houses. Oh, and the Transport Minister's £80,000 a year personal chauffeur bill. Plus a requirement for all MPs to vote in the house on ALL bills being passed. As far as I know Scottish MSPs at Holyrood have no plans for swingeing increases in their pay.
