Interesting.
Personally from what I have read I think UKIP may be a bunch of nutters.
I do wonder about the demonstration in Canongate. What are the Demonstrators, mostly students I believe, frightened of that they have to mob whatshisname?
Surely a much better way is to ignore them completely and not give them publicity associated with a silly demo which only gives them, the UKIP, publicity
PS it made TV news here

Probably more about making the important point that if you let Farage and his ilk go unchallenged then, just like the Nazis before them, they can creep up on a society, if we're apathetic... UKIP are idiots, to a man and woman. And we all know what appeasement does, don't we? If in any doubt about the nature of Farage when it comes to 'conflict' check out his record at the European Parliament in Brussels. He's the first to give it challenge but to paraphrase Dad's Army, "he doesn't like it up him.........." He's probably high as a kite on his recent 'advances' in the Shires of England.......but he can't cut it here in Scotland. We're a helluva lot smarter than that.

The vast majority of UKIP are certifiable including Farage Everyone I've met thought it was hilarious - even my GP mentioned it yesterday to me, he knows I work in Embra, he was pishin himself with laughter Here's some info on UKIP and what they're really about www.richardcorbett.org.uk/theres-something-about-ukip.pdfTwo people arrested - at least one of them English One of the leaders of "the group" who organised the demo is English This was an anti-arsehole and anti-fascist demo Daily Mail was apoplectic with rage, describing chants of "stick yer union jack up yer arse" as disgusting

Personally I felt the BBC were trying so hard to make a conflict between the SNP and U KIP, now I do not think for a moment that these Protesters were SNP supporters in ANY way. I think they were rent a mob, they were every bit as sad as U KIP, 35 year old "student" from Colchester in England !!!! Let us be fair, Mr Farage is another result in England of ordinary people voting because they are so frustrated with the mediocrity and lying cheating feckers that we have as politicians. It reminds me of working people in England being driven to vote BNP, not because they believe in their message but as a PROTEST vote, they feel the other Parties do not listen to them, mainly they are correct too. They do not listen and they continually mis manage. Remember the SNP are the result of PROTEST voting, that is why U KIP are doing so well in England in my opinion. Rolo is so right about things creeping up on us and the biggest one is Islam, the majority of Muslims just want to live their lives, however in over 50 countries now Islam nutters who happen to lead their people are causing havoc and bloodshed, when everyone in politics is saying Islam is a religion of peace, they well might be, but their leaders in the most part are NOT? The Islamic people should change their leaders, otherwise we are sleepwalking into certain conflict. I know I keep going on about this, however I do feel it is worth mentioning as if we say nothing or worse silence those who question them, we help the nutters, put light on them show them for what they are and maybe the ordinary Moslem WILL change things before conflict.

We have a glimmer of that light Bormes. We have had some shootings between muslim factions. The police cracked down hard on them, with a lot of arrests, acting on information given by the local muslim community

When in actual fact the opposite is true. UKIP policies have no place in Scotland. He can arrive here and give it his best shot-------free speech and all that-----but ultimately he's on a hiding to nothing. We all know this. The man's a raving lunatic. But it's becoming a serious worry that he and his extreme right-wing ilk are gaining ground in England. Aided and abetted by that hideous rag, the Daily Fail. Some of the comments from its troglodyte readers are even more scary than its slanted, biased articles. Something really bad is going on. Let's stay sanguine, calm and focussed in the face of this utter silliness.

I really think Farage fancies himself as a latter day Oswald Moseley - hopefully the Royal Mile would have been his Cable Street Here's Men They Couldn't Hang to show what happened there...... www.youtube.com/watch?v=GzKv5gjOzTA
