If you're a fan of Martin Scorsese, probably a must-see. I am, so I went to the Groovenor tonight with Mr R, also a fan. I found it pretty formulaic though; same basic sketch as the mighty Goodfellas, heavy narration by the central character (Ray Liotta in Goodfellas v Leo Dicaprio in Wolf) it's almost like watching a *slightly* updated Goodfellas for our times. About an hour in, I pretty much wanted to leave: I'm far from easily shocked but the relentless sleaze and debauchery got a bit disturbing. But like Goodfellas, it's basically a true story---- so I stayed to see whether the true to life bstarding banker/traders got their comeuppance-- or what. A couple of truly hilarious scenes that anyone who sees em won't forget in a hurry. And Leo DiCaprio was brilliant throughout. Most appalling of all is that this *happened* and the worst of it is, it probably still is. So, on balance, I'd say see it. It ain't pretty though. And I'm not telling you what happened in the end.
