Picked up a book of his at library nice simple detective story set in Glasgow which I enjoyed. He didnt use too many big words or over tax my brain I had never heard of him till now so will be searching for more

Wonder if it's the same Bill Knox that worked as a reporter on local TV? Seems likely.
If you're into your crime novels, Oz, I'd 100% recommend Ian Rankin's Rebus series (based in Edinburgh). And anything by Willie McIlvanney (based in Glasgow/North Lanarkshire).

Nah, what you want to get is Peter Mays trilogy of polis story set in Lewis. Three books ( funnily enough) make up the set He's the best at describing shite weather I've come acoss www.ur-web.net/PeterMayMain/lewispage.htmlCannae recommend them highly enough - jist make sure ye read them in the correct order

Also picked one of the best unputtable down books I have read for a while
"Let not the Deep" by Mike Lunnon-Woods its about sea rescue off the Scilly Islands
For action been reading a Yank author Harold Coyle suitablefor male readers. Books about US army set slightly in future. "The 10,000" is set in Germany post Cold war.
