Our local baths club was transformed into a concert venue this week. An amazing idea---and why the Western's so loved by us all in the WE. A friend of mine, Marilyn Smith (who just got an OBE for services to music) is conducting the Glasgow Phoenix Choir in this wee video of the event. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-26850217

The pool was emptied before and a concert held in the 80's or 90's. I'm not sure what the acoustics would sound like but it would appeal to some. They emptied the pool beforehand? That would have cut down on the comedic value somewhat I take it, it wasn't Handel's Water Music that was played then?

I'll set em up, you knock em in, Nota.... Yes, Gilly, you're right, the Baths did a similar event back in 1990 for Glasgow's City of Culture year. Re sound quality, it works with choral music given the shape and acoustic of the room, it would not work with amplified music though, granted!

Yeah, and in 1990 it was more high brow with 'dinner suits' and 'evening dresses' and then it wasn't my cup of tea either. Now they're struggling to refill the pool.... lol Since 1990 - jeezo
