So, we're being battered over the heid with this supposed good news all over the UKE media today.
Wages are (cue fanfare, TA-RA!) outstripping inflation for the first time since 2009.
So, let's look at the reality in more detail before we start hanging out the bunting, shall we?
1) We're told wages have increased 1.7% this past year while inflation is at 1.6%
BUT...taken into account in these *averaged out* figures are bonuses to employees such as bankers, and NOT just basic wage levels. Strip out bonuses and you get basic wages at 1.4% increase, a VERY DIFFERENT STORY!
2) Our real wages compared to 2009 are roughly 10% lower comparatively, given successive wage freezes plus the effect of rampant inflation since.
So, given the odd paltry rise in taxfree allowance, the vast majority of people who work are worse off since 2009 by around 7%.
This is supposed to be GOOD NEWS?
I'll tell you what it is, it's fucking propaganda by the Westminster government. We all KNOW and RECOGNISE that the rich get richer and everyone else is getting poorer under this hideous regime.
Don't fall for it, folks. The truth is the vast majority of us have less disposable in their pockets because it's being diverted to a precious few bwankers. Who, in any fair society, should be in jail for their crimes.
