Tried my best to give it brave, Oz, though I admit to a tear or three as he went towards Departures..he turned around at the worst possible moment, but I think I managed to give it cheery wave, trying to hide me snottering like the demented old dear I'm rapidly becoming. As he headed off to Berlin's 25th anniversary party, I told him the story of me and mine getting back to our hotel after a gig in Washington DC, turning on the telly and seeing the momentous 'news' back in 1989. It was a heavy touring year, we hardly knew which way was up by November. We were scheduled back into Glasgow for a couple of nights then straight to Berlin for a gig pre-booked months earlier. So, pretty much this weekend, 25 years back, our whole touring party made our way down to the Reichstag, via the Brandenburg Gate. That was really something. And I showed him the small fragments of The Wall I broke off and have kept ever since. Coincidink? Jury's out. p.s. Yeah, of course, that's Ashton

He'll be home in time for the start of summer term @ Sydney uni. Whether via Etihad, Emirates, Qantas, BA. He's angling for an upgrade whatever. LOL

wotdja bung the lad fer brekkie? Bake neggs, snags and dead 'orse? any new words perchance??? We don't do snags for brekkie, sorry bout that! Lad had porridge. Albeit not the traditional way. He made it into the Ozzie version, with banana, honey and eeeeughhhhhhh, sugar! Was a tad confused by the potato scone but totally 'got' the square sausage, and how it was cleverly designed not to fall out of your roll.

It's not that often you remember (given our advanced years : where you were exactly 25 years ago. A rare exception: by utter coincidink and good fortune, me and mine became part of the biggest party ever, down the Brandenburg Gate. A totally unforgettable experience, it was controlled madness, people all over the place, celebrating. Fortunately/unfortunately, depending on your POV, this was a few days before The Hoff arrived for his famous er....concert atop the Wall. Seriously, for a second though. We all joined in the party, still not quite believing it was happening. People on the West side had gouged a huge hole in the Wall with their bare hands, guys were at it with hammers, you name it. I decided it was a good idea to fire through the big hole, ducking under, only to find a really severe looking East German soldier with a great big rifle on the other side. He wisnae happy, so I ducked right back into the West, hahahahahHA! I broke these fragments off with my bare hands, which was a bit sore to be honest I've kept them safe since. A tiny token to democracy and power to the people. Attachments:

Must have been quite an experience and unforgettable.
Wish I had been there to see history in the making. It doesnt happen often and to have been there I envy you.
I have absolutely no idea where I was, just another day at the office probably.

Oh, no particular food's bad per se.
Protein=energy and we all need some satfats. Problem arises when you take in more calories than you burn off.
We're uber-sedentary, most of us. THAT's the problem.

Just thinking about Oz lad and lingo I think the most common phrase here is "No worries!"
Angelique Jolie was being interviewed on her lastest film "Unbroken" which she directed and which was filmed in NSW & QLD. She was saying if she ran into a problem about anything someone would always say "no worries"..... she even got accent dead right
