News reaches us of pretty horrific stuff going on over by, Oz. We sure hope everyone's OK..and come to no harm.
I believe from a pal in North Sydney that there's a deal of a sandstorm going on. Ouch. Cheaper than botox though. :-D

I put a post else where , buggered if I can remember where. We have had 3 trees down in road and main road was blocked with trees ... we got off lightly Big cruise ship was stuck off heads couldnt enter harbour. 4 people were killed further North. Thank god that was all on lighter side a tree brought down live wires across a rescue truck trapping the crew inside. 2 minutes later a huge gust of wind blew tree and wires off the truck and they reversed away at a zillion mph lot of beaches have moved inland a bit see pic in pics

a nice bit of humanity
A village in the Hunter Valley on a rise is now completely cut off by flood waters (the inhabitants now refer to it as Gilligan's Island) and get all supplies by SES (State Emergency Services... a largely volunteer organisation) boat.
One lady there has a premature baby that needs oxygen. She asked SES if they would send across an oxygen cylinder the next time a boat was coming over. They said they would then 15 minutes later she got a phone call asking her to pack a bag as they thought it would be better if she and bub, Chelsea, were taken off the island.
Next thing a knock at the door 4 SES guys and a paramedic. she was taken by rubber boat, they thought they could get it in closer to the house and to the road. There she was met by 2 rescue trucks and an ambulance. She was astounded but they told her they had just wanted a chance to cuddle Chelsea. She and Chelsea were taken to local hospital for Chelsea to be checked up and to stay overnight and the next day (today) move into a motel till they could go home when water and electricity were connected.
She was quite overcome She had just asked for the delivery of an oxygen bottle in case anything went wrong.

Lovely story and good on everyone who pitched up to help this lady and her wee newborn. Best wishes to them and those who went beyond the call of duty and just gave it humanity.
