They are not children they are foetuses, they do not become a child until birth Hmmm, nup, cannae agree with that. There is no clear line that delineates ball of alien cells/unviable foetus/entirely viable infant. Birth?

Do you have a sliding scale for people that should be sterilised? Clearly drug addicts are up there on your list, alkies anaw maybe, och and them down syndrome folks, they make the place look unsightly .....its for the children you understand. Its an interesting debate to listen to the chattering middle classes concern themselves with the productive rights of substance misusers whilst cheering on the slaughter (sorry abortion is a nicer word) of 200,000 children in the UK each year. Oh, get off the fence why don't you?

If you read the post properly you'd see I am only concerned by the birth of a child with a major disease which is incurable. I suppose by your post you think it is ok to bring a child suffering from withdrawal symptoms or HIV into the world, I did not say abortion, you did, I said sterilise before conception. Are you meaning me in the chattering middle classes? You say it like a derisive comment. I am not class conscious, I could be middle income bracket though.

Who takes care of the poor little bastards born to addicts?
Why can't people get off heroin/methadone? Why should the tax payers continue to finance addiction?

There is a growing number of people including many from the medical profession who say that Heroin is viable for an addict and allows the person to live a fairly normal life, therefore they wish Methodone to be stopped as it is a very poor and even dangerous substitute.

Being addicted to any "heroin" is no different to being addicted to anything else - the user has to want to become free of the addiction whatever that maybe - some addictions are just treated in diffrint ways. As nota joonyur is a pharmacist he sees Methadone consumers everyday, when used properly and as part of a program it is a very positive process - but it needs to be part of a program Indeed nota jnr knows of peopel who are presecribes kless than 5ml per week as that is how much they need syka-lojikly tae keep them on ra straight and narrow.
As fur heroin prescribin - why not, as long as its controlled(both quality and amount) then it can be no worse than anything else and of course will curtail ra criminal element's involvment

How do you choose which addictions are accepted and supported by society and which are not?
