My sources inform me that while some recent work was getting done at the fragrant Mr King's gaff in Ashton Lane, (something to do with the opening of an establishment going by the name of, ahem, the 'Grosvenor Cafe' - the bloody TEMERITY of these people!!!)... a Box was discovered in a forgotten corner; contents unknown. Upon opening of the box, old film reels were discovered. These reels turned out to be an original print of King Kong!! RKO have been informed and have waived the fee of 40-odd thousand that would be required to secure ownership of the reels - and the Grosvenor cinema apparently will be showing this original print some time in November. Magic! In the meantime, there's a grand re-opening tomorrow night: www.socialanimal.co.uk/GlasgowWestEnd/Grosvenor_Cinema/pages/1108/www.grosvenorcafe.co.uk/launch

Noooooooooooooooooooooo! Sacrilege! I shall not set foot in this pretender of an establishment, oh no. Not even in the highly unlikely event that it does proper home-made soup, pizza with egg on top or Millionaires Shortbread with Ice Cream... <that's quite interesting about the old film though.. >

I am reliably informed, one of Mr. Kings workers e-mailed the previous owners, regards some of the above and I believe they had no problem with his decision, although I believe they have a trading company of the same name. I am also reliably informed he has some original Beetles film, as yet pretty unseen, as he has a LOAN of this, I am sure it will be returned soon.

According to the radio the other day, the reels were found by a joiner in the roof space. They were heading for the skip when they were spotted & rescued by a keen eyed attendant. Phew!
