Having seen Ross Kemp tonight on TV, I can't help but have a wee bit of admiration for him and a very few like him, Kate Aidie, Martin Bell etc. However the majority of journalists I have come across in a number of countries I have been in, would stand on their mothers to get something first, they are not in the front line often, they are put in situations to look as though they are , stage managed by some adjutant who is crapping his self in case they are actually hurt. Most squaddies despise most of them, although they put up with a pretty young female in" hope" Mr. Kemp though, tries very hard and comes across quite honest in his endeavours. I recently spoke to a friend who is still serving and who had met him (Kemp) a couple of years ago and said he was a good lad, as was his back up people, cameraman etc, he saw him crapping himself under fire and his voice had almost gone, but he had a wee drink of water and managed to continue, this garnered him a lot of respect from a particular group of lads who do not easily give kudos.

What about John Simpson, veteran war reporter, who's been known to cross dodgy borders dressed in a burkha?
He's pretty out there, in more senses than one.

Does he only wear it in those cases? Or is it relaxing clothes at home?

Does he only wear it in those cases? Or is it relaxing clothes at home? When at home he could probably remove the veil bit, or maybe not
