Just finished watching the coverage of the referendum statement in the parly building - and then onto the press conference, held in Embra Castle.... on Burns Day (the only place with a room big enough to hold everybody from the press that wanted in) Excellenty! Salmond displayed almighty, awesome, cool statesmanship in the face of all comers (and there were many foreign journalists there, especially from Spain and Scandinavia). He answered every question calmly and honestly and (at times) with no small degree of humour, especially when somebody asked him what did he think of Paxman.... There's not a pollitician or parliamentarian anywhere in these islands that can hold a candle to him. He will sweep away all in his path. They have not a leg to stand on. It's great to see a politician talking honestly, speaking words that cannot be contradicted, and words that he will not be able later to dare refute or go back on.... a decent statesman who has stood for & fought for one righteous thing only , throughout his long political career, and who truly deserves the support of the people. What a day. Momentous times. More on the telly tonight. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-politics-16724777Now, if we can just get rid of that pesky 'devo max' red herring....

Indeedy ;D Calm, rational, dignified, humorous and sussed. What a fine example of keeping the heid in the face of a maelstrom of negative campaigning ;D I guess the torrents of abuse will go on. It's hard not to rise to it, but we must, we must!

I was w*rking dead late last night so caught it on the Iplayer in the wee small hours. It was actually quite hard to find-- surprise surprise--- but I got there in the end . Woeful. Laughable actually. Jim Wallace was probably the worst advertisement for the Tory/LibDem coalition you could imagine. He looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights throughout. How panicked was he? Johann Lamont (Labour Party leader) just gave it bluster, completely useless, not a single positive, useful point made. I was pissed off at the presenter Glenn Campbell continually interrupting when it was Nicola's turn to speak. He didn't do that to the other panellists I'd love to know how BBC Scotland recruited their audience. It's usual in these televised debates, such as Question Time and special political features, that the broadcaster sends invites to the major parties' membership. These invites have been routine up till now--- yet oddly enough, I don't recall seeing the missive to SNP party members this time around. Just saying, like Mind you, on that showing, the unionist parties are doing our work for us ;D ;D ;D.

I know of a few people who got tickets, they applied for them, they are SNP supporters Some of the audience questions were complete puerile shite too
