I doubt any of us out this evening needed the weather forecast to tell us snaw's on its way tomorrow. ;D I shall look forward to the neeb strapping on his Rossignol skis to negotiate the path on his way to his Saturday afternoon car-hoovering, resplendent no doubt in Gucci salopettes and a Russian mink Davy Crocket hat, atop which will likely perch a pair of Chanel wraparound shades. All accessorised of course with Salomon ski gloves. He will then most probably roar up to the local shop in his stupit-looking car for a pint of skinny organic milk and a copy of GQ, whilst throwing up evil slush over the underclass. Meanwhile chez Rolo we've got the shoe chains that Santa brought us all looked out. We're going on a major extended family trek to the new local Italian restaurant two blocks up the road ;D ;D The wean's kitten will, as usual, try to follow us and there will be a snowball fight on the way given we have three under 18s and a few menfolks.

Yes, not a million miles from there, Maggs ;D
It's just a restaurant, no separate bar or anything. The tat's up in the eaves ;D It's quite a bold move really, giving it entrepreneurship in a recession AND in row of shops in a suburban area that usually only consist of a Sp*r/Chemist/Dry Cleaners/ Hairdressers/ the odd takeaway.

That's news to me too rolo. How long has he been there? Do you know who the Chef/owner is? It's good as you say someone being, very brave, working for themselves, in a hard business in an area where there is not loads of passing trade, on a dreich cold Tuesday night!!

Just reading about your neighbour rolo, reminds me of one Callum had when he lived up on Rosslyn Terrace. Callum and Kate lived 1 up on the corner and Kate used to regularly see a chap (a Doctor at the ear, nose throat Hosp.) He did stretching excersises daily dressed in a Thong only !! Apparently he is a well known West End worthy but quite eccentric. His curtains were always open and he seemed to revel in any attention of passers bye. I recognise who she meant, yet for the life of me I do not wish to viualise the wee fellow doing his thing in his thong !! lol.

His name's Nico Simeone, Bormes and the restaurant's called La Famiglia, Maggs. It was previously run by local couple Val and Dino and Nico took it over a few months back and spent a fair bit on a revamp. It's beautiful and comfortable inside, about 40 seats-and was busy yesterday lunchtime. Apparently they're booked out most evenings, and I can see why. The food's good and very reasonably priced, the service is friendly and efficient; it's unpretentious, good value and I'd recommend it ;D And like Nick's it's great to have these neighbourhood restaurants opening up in residential areas. No need for designated drivers either!
