Much of Mexico is a cesspool.
Google earth creeps me out. When I lived in Idaho, there was no other house for a mile or so either direction. You could put in my phone number and google earth would show you a picture of my house and give you directions and a map.
I think it's such an invasion of privacy.

I agree about lack of privacy.
Looked up my old house in Bishopbriggs & here's a guy working on garage door. Mrs Oz checked & its the guy that bought the house from us 40 years ago.
My own house is up a drive way & cant be seen but someone left my car lying in driveway.

I like the one of the moose in Norway ;D I'm with you though, Peony...you just need a person's postcode (zip) and you can stickybeak their house from all angles. We had a burglary (first in 21 years here) a couple of years back. We'd had a tv delivered just a week or two beforehand--and it was the only thing taken, apart from the wean's birthday money that was nearby. It occurred to me at the time that someone in possession of the postcode could've cased the place online. Whoever it was sure knew they'd need something tall to puddy themselves up on to break through a certain windae. They left it behind btw.

Isn't it the case that you can request that they take off, or fuzzy up images if you consider them to be an invasion of privacy?

You can have your phone number removed, but not the image, unless it is a liscense plate number.

Yes, it can feel a bit creepy but I suppose the argument is that it's just a different way of showing things that are already available tho granted you'd need to travel quite far to get the 'street view'.

I don't object nearly as much now that the connection with the phone numbers has been stopped. It's pretty easy to get someone's phone number. It could be a stalker's paradise. Just the street view as is doesn't bother me nearly as much.

hi. in view of what you've said I've deleted the post and link. Thanks for the heads up Sir H. Um, WTF and pardon...? It was a link to a site called yasni. It seems to gather together all the info available on line about any particular name. If you have a common name then there'll be all sorts about all the people with that name. However, if your name is a bit out of the ordinary then it may well be mostly about you. When I came across it because it meant people could find stuff about me all in one place including my home address and Amazon wish list. As Sir h pointed out there may be risks with ad ons I removed the link. I didn't want to put a link on here that may cause others problems.
