Great stuff! Many moons ago, when somebody tried to explain to me how it could be that phone calls to America could possibly be so easy and quick, I could not believe what they said.... Yes. Cables under the sea. A cable comes out of your phone and out of your house and out of your town and to a big central place and then somebody leaves the coast with a great big cable containing your phone line and millions of others, and lays the cable on the sea bed, and it comes out the water on the other side and then all the cables get split up and one ends up in the phone you're calling.... and that's how it's done. A line from your phone to theirs. Seemples. Naw! Ye're havin me on. Really???I was astounded. But it was at least eminently sensible and comprehensible... and didn't wrap us all up in the modern invisible waves that are frying our brains I don't think the world, very soon, will have the brains to come up with or implement this sort of brilliant idea / technical & engineering achievement.
