Who's line was that again, Nota, Connolly? At any mention of Patsy Cline I remember when Richard Park used Sweet Dreams as the outro to his Radio Clyde show, Dr Dick's Midnight Surgery. Terribly risque at the time--hilarious drunken phone-ins being the highlight, the prize being Dr Dick's Twelve Incher which fortunately for the winners meant only the most recent album Clyde had been given free by the record label promo guys. ;D Spotted the mega-banner for the show hanging off Oran Mor the other night; the actress playing Patsy is uncannily like her and I've heard that she can sing a bit too. Oran Mor are doing some spectacularly good programming these days, good on em.

It's truly hard to find anyone who could sing "Sweet Dreams" acapella better than Patsy. Reba M. gave it a pretty good shot, though. www.youtube.com/watch?v=pRU5_Vaf7IIThe amazing thing about Reba's version is the stillness of the audience.

Ye're no old enough, Westtie ;D Dr Dick's finest moments were in the early 80s; Midnight till 2am on a Thursday night I think? Nota'll remember. Brilliant show and such suspect humour nobody'd get away with broadcasting it now Park left Clyde in the late 80s to head up Capital.

If you heard the programme rolo, you must have been about twelve !! Twelve sheets to the wind more like, Bormes ;D We used to hightail it out of the Thursday night lockins at *he ***blet back home to Otago St to catch the show. It was THAT good I should remember it. I was a fan of the wireless, speshly late night under the covers as noted elsewhere on this forum, and I listened to the book programme they used to do on Radio Clyde with old whatsisname, Alex Dixon, was it?, and I used to listen to Tom Ferrie on R Scotland who played SpyroGyra as the background muzak when he was reading out the dedications (jings, remember them, such exciting!) and he used to do a mini style Scottish shipping and inshore waters forecast, "south of the Cumbraes"....and I clearly remember a Clyde jingle for Richard Park... but I really don't think I remember hearing the prog. If someone could find a jingle or ident that was used on it regularaly, it might jog my memory, but other than that I don't know the programme. Ah, the old Clyde idents... "Hello Norman!!" "Smith!! - What a Swingin Name!!" "what're ya gonna do... after the tiger's gone"
