For about an hour and a half this morning............ I swear I saw folks dressed in shorts, vests and flipflops on the bus this a.m. sniggering at me in my sheepskin jaikit. And in Merchant City as I left w*rk, pavement cafes and bars heavily populatit by folks determined to sit outside even though by that time twas about 10 degrees. Most of 'em had turned a fetching shade of blue...... ;D Over Ashton Lane earlier tonight, it was a pure display of bare legs, newly applied fake tan and minimal clothing. And that was just the men... Yikes! What IS it about the Scottish psyche that we wear less on cold nights than we do during (slightly) warmer days? Just determined to get our money's worth on the 'summer wardrobe'? ;D

GAWD when it drops below 20°c I reach for a sweater Hell yeah ;D We had spring and summer all rolled into one last Monday. Ever hopeful we all put wur winter wardrobe to the back of it....and swopped heavy-weight 2000 TOG quilts for 3.4. Except now we're all digging out our gloves, scarves, hats and fat quilts all over again.....that's it over for another year, Scots!

Mrs N managed to get the cushions out on the new patio set - I insisted that she sit out there all day - as it could be a year before able to use it again - it takes a while to get a return on an investment like that round these parts

Left the house at 7, could hardly see ma way across to the bus stop for the fog. Ai swear the clouds were just a foot above my head...passing cars had foglamps on...ouch! Pelting rain was actually sore on your heid...bah...I mean what's the point of doing your hair nice and stuff when you arrive completely bedraggled? ;D ;D ;D Great night out at Bar Soba though....door stewards met incomers and outgoers (and us filthy smokers) by sheltering em under massive umberellies. Nice touch----and great food too. Brilliant service by the young staff, patient and lovely but you just knew they wanted us all outta there come midnight so's they could all fire down the Subby. Worst of it wis.....me and my mates wanted to go too! Dignity won the day.......DRAT.

Drat, that'd have been good to meet up over a pint, Nota. ;D I'll PM you the moby for next time! Felt for Mr R, out working on some corporate event in a marquee at a country hotel....everywhere's waterlogged, including our wee garden.....a portent of mud to come at T again this year? We're steeling ourselves already.... Can NOT get any worse than it was last year though. Worst in 18 years...

It's probably gonna be my last year, Nota, in my present role anyway.. It's by far the biggest challenge of my year, my hours get ever more punishing. (Talking a straight 180+ over the 10 days...) Not ready to quit just yet though, maybe just a downsize to a Thursday-Sunday role, very possibly in Welfare, if they'll have me. Dead excited to see Kraftwerk this year though! Me and some pals have already commandeered a buggy or three as we're spread all over site...it'll look a bit like this! ;D ;D ;D www.youtube.com/watch?v=hA2mrugzhwg<reminds self to remember to grow up, sometime......NOT>
