OK, so the wean's kitten's not been very well this week, on account of yet another stay at the Cat Hotel (while we were away at TiTP). Giving it multiple sneeze since Tuesday night when we picked her up. Hiding limply in wee shady places about the house, not eating, dull eyed and just not right. So to the vet Thursday, cat flu (as we suspected) mega-antibiotic shot, then doesn't the wee thing go missing yesterday. Not like her. Ms R's upset, out giving it search in neighbours' gardens and the like in case kitten's so weirdly drugged has lost way home, when that smarmy git from next door strolls up his path. Wean asks if he's seen kitten, he goes Nah, then activates some gadget or another (his CAT NAV, don't you know ) upon which cue his horrible beast appears from the nearest bush, beeping, with some red light going on on it's collar. oh GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR Anyways, Mr R pitches up from w*rk about 1am and he and Ms R go out with a torch (how terribly old-fangled!) all over the streets and lanes nearby. No sign. Ms R nearly in tears by this time. Except! 5 mins later a wee feeble meew, wean's kitten's making her way up path, dazed and confused. Or has possibly been to cat night club, unlike next door's cat who's remotely controlled... ;D ;D ;D ;

Naw we have butters feeding them so they are down our lane regularly, nightly and kill any cat they can catch easily, they see it as another predator in their area.

Dirty little stop-out! ;D Mind you, if I ever get a cat again, (and I probably will), a remote-controlled one might be fun.

I have to confess that my Dad used to put out food in the garden for the fox. The idea, I think, was that he approved of the fox because it would scare off local cats and the reason he wanted the cats to keep away was partly not to piss and shit in Mum's garden and partly so as not to scare away the birds from bird-table thingwie. Strong dislike of the magpies and crows for same reason, and sometimes threatened to get a catapult. ;D I hope any cats that met it did the fast run up tree thing.
