Jokes have been made about sex since Eve was an orchardist. Also nations, races professions and just about anything else some are hilarious some arent .

Guy goes to doctor to complain that after his wife came back from hospital she was no longer interested in sex and didnt want him near her. The hospital couldnt understand it as she only had catarscts removed from her eyes.

Now that is very sexist & I think funny


3 professions were arguing about whicj was the oldest. The doctor said it must be a doctor who else could have produced Eve out of Adams rib. The engineer said he was wrong it needed ab engineer to sort order out of the chaos. The politioan looke up and said " who the hell do you think created the chaos'

I wont go on to Scottish Irish & English jokes we all know them

Some jokes are vindictive some arent funny but most can offend someone if they want to be offended . Different pwople have different sense of humour. Most kokes we realise are that not statements of fact.

I enjoy suspect jokes. The ones I dont like I ignore.

Their are differences between the humour of various countries ours if a bit different from both UK & US though it doesnt stop other peoples enjoying or being annoyed by another country's humour.

As an example

Oz saying "as dry as a pommy's towel" I mean some poms get upset being called poms. rest is probably a bit subtle

Look, I'm hellish far from being easily offended. Jokes about sex are as old as the hills, yeah, sure. But it's the underlying intent that counts, is it not.

I just don't happen to believe that *jokes* that attempt to portray women as mindless, malleable sperm receptacles are funny.

Your one about the cataracts was entirely different in intent.

Sir Hank's, in my personal view anyway, was bordering on vindictive (your word!) and has undertones of sheer contempt.

Here's a challenge for you: would you repeat his *joke* to YOUR wife/daughter/niece or in mixed company at a party?

Sometimes Suspect Humour is a bit, you know, suspect.

I think we are coming across a difference in attitude between sexes in Oz and UK.

There is a difference which I have noticed each time in UK . You probably picked up difference when here. its subtle but it is therte.

Most certainly not aimed at anyone here but at thugs from political parties, extreme left or extreme right who think they have the right to intimidate and threaten opponents to try to force them not to vote as they wish but to vote for the thugs' party

It seems in your country and mine these thugs are generally biut not always from the Extreme left. In other countries can be from extreme right

I feel perfectly free and safe to correct any socialist sentiments here though missionary work is never easy

like he can't come on and discuss it himself.
