Yep, it's George Square right enough, Oz. Had to smile at the left hand column with tips about How to be Scottish. Very droll and of course, we'd not take offence By strange coincidink, with the young Ozzie backpacker last week en route to Loch Lomond, we passed by Auchentoshan distillery. Looks idyllically like the Highlands from the pic but in actual fact it's in Clydebank, on the A82 out westwards. We came back over the high road to Faslane--- so he could *understand* the proximity of nukes to Glasgow and the whole objection to Trident he'd learned about via IndyRef--- and then home via Helensburgh: I mentioned to him as we got to the Ballantines distillery at Dumbarton it has no need for complicated security arrangements and burglar alarms. They have a flock of Watch Geese. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Thought I recognised the NB Hotel Next Queens Street Station (well done me)
I remember the geese at Ballantynes distillery at Dumbarton. Just at the turn off towards Helensburgh
The rules for becoming a Scot were written for Australians by Australians though I reckon one if not more Scots had a hand in it. Sounds like an almost fully assimilated Scot at work.

And again yes, Ballantines is at the junction of the A82, and guess what...the ancient white painted sign on the wall is still there. Helensburgh <---- Loch Lomond----> I walked across the Square this morning for the first time in a few weeks, me back in the office routine after a few weeks out and about. I stopped briefly outside the hotel, at the traffic lights where the terrible bin lorry accident happened last Christmas. The Fatal Accident enquiry is taking place in Glasgow at the moment, and the resulting media reports are hard to watch, tbh.

Ya forgoat the preggie bit!!! ty It is unusual to have an all male pipe band now. I see from web site there are some girl members wondr why they werent there. The band is from inner west of Sydney. PS I notice the guy who was "tuning" the pipes was ethnic Chinese, its certainly a multi racial country!

After the most hellishly cold and damp summer here in Scotland, the skies have cleared in September so great visibility of Aurora Borealis, as far south as Cumbria and Durham I believe. No luck seeing it in Glasgow (yet). Too much ambient light. But I live in hope!

West End Festival's Lux Botanicum. Or something. Lots of lighty up things in the Botanics. Should probably go but not sure I can be arsed. It's bloody freezing out and £10 to get in!

That is effing terrifying. Jeez, why did we bother blowing up the Red Road flats when we coulda just bunged them on a few floats and sent them out to sea @ £20K per person for a fortnight.
