Downside of holiday weekend: Wean's a bit shaken coming in just now. She'd left Uni Library and waited for her bus at the foot of Hillhead steps. Next thing, some guy totally off his tits on something or other decides to wind up the customers of the shisha bar on Gt Western, shouting racial obscenities. He then ventured into the Spar next door and comes out again sharpish, being chased by the counter guy. All the while, drunk white guy is shouting " ya black bastards ye"..then decides to throw beer bottle (clearly nicked from Spar) that just misses Ms R, counter guy and a young family nearby-- and smashes in the middle of the road in heavy traffic. Her bus came just as bystanders wrestled the amoeba to the ground. His type shames us all and we're not having it, oh no. Upside of holiday weekend: Beautiful day in Glasgow: cloudless sky, warm sunshine: cherry blossom and magnolias bursting into bloom. Peoples' heads up after The Big Sleep, smiles on faces all over town today. Pavement cafes and bars dusted down the alfresco furniture and all have tables out, thronged even as the sun went down tonight........brrrrr. big frost tonight, minus 5, due to clear skies! Whatever you're doing this holiday weekend, have a great one, folks

The people like them. We reckon they will more than pay their way in increased tourism PS our magnolia tree is flowering ( too young to have many blooms) and the camelias are in full bloom PPS From Sydney Morning Pravda Mike Baird State Member for Manly has just been made State Premier (PM) Tony Abbot id Federal Member for Warringah which includes Manly and is of course PM Read more: www.smh.com.au/national/laidback-royals-hit-the-beach-but-barefoot-stroll-proves-a-step-too-far-for-duchess-20140418-36wfq.html#ixzz2zHNNSRRx

Mr.Abbot was recently given a very hard time about his Tax system. He was cringeworthy on his three interviews. I quite liked what I had seen of him in the past, however on the evidence of these interviews he needs to have a better response as he really did come over pretty amateur like. Has he improved OZ?

Oz, How much does Australia contribute financially to keeping the Royals in their life style?
Do they hand over a bung to the UK government yearly or such, or do they just pay for stuff when they visit you?

Wills, Kate and George are making all the headlines here too, Oz. A bit much, maybe though.
Huge crowds at Manly yesterday I gather, about 10,000 or so, yes? Well, personally I wouldn't cross the road to see them but if their visit means something to people over by, then fine.
That said: one pic of William talking to a young cancer victim was quite striking, the concern in his eyes was pretty palpable I thought. And if it made her day, who'd quibble with that.

Not quite what it seems Bormes Up until July Labour & the Greens control the Senate and are blocking changes to "Carbon" and mining taxes. After July they will no longer control the Senate and both taxes will be repealed. I think these are the taxes you are referring to. I dont think there are any other taxes being considered at the moment. Do you know who did the interviews. If ABC or Fairfax Media they are very Anti-liberal. He is shaping up to be an scellent Prime Minister and once the Senate blockings are removed he will be able to get ahead His visits to Asia were a resounding success PS mind you the drover's dog would look good after Rudd & Gillard

Zilch... nothing.. naught.. zip. we support the Governor General and the state Governors who are the Monarch's resentatives..... They serve 5 year periods. Our State Governor Prof Marie Bashir is half way , 13 years, thru her third term and has asked not to be considered for a 4th term. She is extremely popular We pay all costs when they come out to visit us including air fares for them and their entourage. The Cambridges flew QANTAS of course and RAAF here Royalty on the che*p lol

They are paying their way and how. Look at pics specially background people and scenery. That and the fact they are/were here is going to bring in lotsa tourists, always does. They draw huge crowds wherever they go and they both and Kate in particular have made a real hit with the people. You will have noticed no, or very little, bowing (are you supposed to bow to them?). However we bow to no one. Now for my money and it is my money Their Visit to Bear Cottage at Manly, in beautiful surrounding, made it all worth while. Bear Cottage is a charity supported by McDonalds and private donations. It takes in terminally ill kids and they try to make their remaining life as happy as possible. The kids were so excited about Will & Kate coming lots of preparations etc etc. William & Kate exceeded the staff & kids expectations. They cared
