There's still a few pollies who are down to earth and genuine, not many mind. I've high hopes for Nicola Sturgeon and her new cabinet. All grounded people who've had real jobs and not career politicians, unlike Westmonster. SNP ratings are the envy of pollies everywhere, they're genuinely regarded with respect for delivering a more than competent government this past 7 years. And while I don't agree with Tory, Lab and LibDem policies in the main, in our parliament they mainly operate with a respect for others you just don't see in Westmonster. Scottish Labour are hidebound by their party whip though and in terrible disarray. A real shame, we need decent opposition that has the best interests of the Scots at heart.

I get furiouser by the day seeing the right-wing media continuing to endorse this Tory government's hideous policies.
Those policies are to penalise any person, working or nay, that hasn't got enough money to pay for lawyers, accountants and more importantly doctors and higher education.
You can't HELP but notice how we're being persuaded into privatisation of all the above!
Disposable income has flatlined this past 6 years because:
1) wages haven't begun to rise in proportion to the cost of living 2) huge congomerates have got away with tax evasion, leaving a huge hole in public spending budget 3) government endorsement of minimum wage and zero hours contracts has led to the 'working poor" which has cost the country more in benefit payments
Look, it's hardly bloody ROCKET SCIENCE. Pay workers a reasonable, comparative wage for the job they do and FFS, RESTRICT the outrageous pay claims and bonuses of those who lead public services: whether utility companies, transport companies, City councils or whatever other abuses of public money.
Wage differentials; in Germany, most of Europe and Scandinavia, you simply do not see the same inequalities of pay that you do here in the UK.
It's just not TRUE that you have to pay over-inflated salaries to appoint the 'best people' to higher office. But the UK and US establishment continue to lie in that regard.
