Who the hell is Russel Brand? What sort of loony is he?
his quote
Before the interview he had to ask Amelia what the PM's name was
Is he so up himself he thinks everyone is stupider than him? Reckon he is almost inside out

Dear Oz, would you mind if I moved this post about Russell Brand out of this thread?
Having him on the same thread as Edwyn's film is just annoying the HELL out of me.

The Red Tops are giving it large again this week, as if to destroy Russell Brand. Their only argument seems to be that he is relatively wealthy so therefore can't (by their narrow uber- capitalist views) have anything in common, value-wise, with anyone but his fellow wealthy. It's tantamount to saying Prince Harry is a hypocrite for supporting charities for the war-wounded. After all he has all his limbs intact, therefore he has no understanding of those who've lost one or more. Is HE being subject to personal attack? Er NO. And neither is any other good person who speaks out on behalf of those less fortunate. Christ on a fucking bike. The reason the right wing media's giving it concerted effort to destroy Brand is because they are TERRIFIED of anyone speaking out. TERRIFIED of anyone who looks a 'wee bit different' from the clones we are all supposed to emulate. TERRIFIED that they'll be found out for supporting a hideous right wing regime that glories in inequality and favours only their 'own'. Have to say I completely support Russell's stance on this issue. It's about land and property owners wanting to capitalise on the estate they 'own' by driving out ordinary people and replacing them with wealthier people. London is becoming more and more a place where only the wealthy can afford to live. Driving ordinary people out as if they were trash. Good on Russell and everyone else protesting against such hideous values, I say.

Thats nice
I only asked coz I had never heard of him and he gave one of the most incoherent interviews I have ever seen on TV , and that includes Rudd/Gillard. I wasn't quite sure whether he was being serious or whether it was a huge leg-pull. I still amn't.
If it was serious.................. geeeeeeeeeeeeeez

JUST wondering if you could be bothered to look into the issue that's being protested about or were you blinded by media reporting of Brand's support? OK, for the hard of hearing.... In North London, there's an estate where ordinary people, working people in the main, pay rent to live in their homes to a mega rich landowner. This landowner has decided that he can make MUCH more money by shifting out ordinary people and raising rents to be more in line with the hideously unaffordable property prices in most of London. This will mean that said ordinary folks will need to move away. Away from the place they work, away from family, friends and community. Away, in many cases, from where they have called home much of their lives. Does that seem right or fair to you, Oz? You will have seen the same scenario in Sydney. The same huge divide arising between regular working folks and the mega rich. Is it OK that people are forced from their homes through the sheer greed of land and property owners? EH?

I was and am talking about an incoherent interview regarding the OZ Government of which it was obvious he knew nothing ... That is all. He may do great things in UK but he didnt here made a fool of himself all he was trying to do a bit of self promotion.

Was he wrong in saying that many Australians consider Tony Abbott to be a raving lunatic? lol what a wonderful weasel word "many" is, makes the speaker sound knowledgeable but means nothing and a great cover up for lack of knowledge. Many is an abstract word without a definitive quantative value. It is as easy to say that "many Scots consider Alex Salmond to be a raving lunatic" and just as true "many soccer fans say Partick Thistle should win the cup" ... so many examples (note in each case there is no actual reference to numbers. Start listening for the use of "many" in pollies speeches you will find many many examples

You should be able to get that on cable/Iplayer. I doubt your claim that 'many Scots consider AS to be a raving lunatic'. There will be some misguided souls that do, simply because they're so reactionary they can't actually tell a decent politician from a charlatan. I'll raise you AS versus Tony Abbott any time.
