Bejasus. Nota, I don't know how you do it. All week I've been commuting back and forth and am collapsed in a heap tonight before starting all over again tomorrow. I work on a project called Made in Scotland, where we 'sell' Scottish talent to international buyers. A full year of planning then a week of utter mental-ness with shows early morning until very late at night . www.madeinscotlandshowcase.comSo Scotrail. In the busiest month of the year for tourism and particularly on the Glasgow-Edinburgh link, what do they do? Increase the capacity of the trains from 3 to 4, 5 or even 6 carriages? Do they feck. Every single day this week, hunners of folks, most with suitcases and/or bloody rucksacks pack out the trains along with regular commuters. Standing room only and not nearly enough room for luggage. Catering trolley can't get thru for folks standing/sitting/lying in the aisles. I suppose we should celebrate that half the world seems to be in Scotland this weather. I'd hate to think Scotrail are taking everyone's hard-earned and not providing a decent capacity on the trains...grrrrr. Don't start me on trying to get anywhere fast in Central Edinburgh. Bloody tourists at a snail's pace, took me 20 minutes yesterday to walk from Waverley via Princes St Gardens to give my presentation to international promoters at the National Library of Scotland, it's about 3 minutes any other time. Bloody clowns, mime-artists, chuggers--no I DON'T want a flyer for some godforsaken talent-free show in some makeshift venue 5 miles from city centre, thank you. The only good thing out of Edinburgh at Festival time is the train to Glasgow.

Except I'm REALLY looking forward to this tomorrow afternoon, damn the inconvenience. Two Girls, two Grands. Virtuoso musicians, West Enders both. Bormes, I suspect you'll know Hilary! I'm not supposed to have a favourite Made in Scotland show but hey.... Here's a clip: www.madeinscotlandshowcase.com/shows/pianopiano

Great!!!!!
Good luck , pianists ate wonderful
I always enjoyed the Edinburgh Festival. One of the friendliest festival cities in the world ( though I would hate to live there or work there at Festival time)
Good luck and Keep ra heid!!! It'll pass.
Wonder the railways didnt have to do urgent track maintence then. Honestly I sometimes think if theses planners' brains were dynamite they wouldnt blow the wax out of their ears
When we camped in Edinburgh late July a retired couple next to us were from Blenhiem NZ and they were staying there for the festival. They left their van and went for day trips etc by bus they werent losing their possie.
