They've nicked the lead aff the bliddy roof!! How low can ye get. The inside is ruined thanks to the rain getting in. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-11501948"...A workman from Glasgow University noticed the state of the roof and reported it to the police. We are delighted by the kindness from our neighbours at the University of Glasgow, who stepped in during our absence to avert further damage and start the clear-up for us." This happened in front of a busy hospital, on a busy main road, would have been overlooked by a million windows, would have required ladders, a van, etc. Did nobody question what was going on?? If they did it at night, did they have no qualms about looking a tad suspicious?? It's getting easier and easier to nick stuff. You just have to look like you're semi official, supposed to be there and - it seems - nobody bats an eyelid. Honesttaegod.

There MUST be cameras around the place. I would be looking at inside knowledge first.

You can get away with anything on big buildings or in big organisations & go anywhere if you have a clipboard , roll of plans and a hard hat. I know, I have done it, legally, and only been challenged once*. So it wouldnt be difficult to strip lead off roof , if you have a brass neck, have a truck outside building, ladders and look confident. I wandered round Bute? Hall at Glasgow Uni for most of a day checking stonework & was never questioned * Make that twice. Once by cops, was spotted on a Pub roof somewhere in Glasgow. Other time when I checking out empty welfare houses in Sydney by grass cutters. One of my colleagues was arrested in Castlemilk and accused of being a bookies runner but thats a different story
