Spent today in meetings with Creative Scotland and British Council, next international foray's to New Zealand next week, the Scottish delegation taking musicians and bands out to showcase there. Hope to find a way to take up my invite to Brizzy in November, Oz. And two of my team head for Austin Texas this month for South By South West festival, showcasing Scottish bands-- courtesy Scottish Government investment. Forward thinking policies from our government OK, 9 month's work comes to fruition this coming week, eek!. My company's hosting a European music conference in Glasgow. Vast majority of the delegates haven't been here before, so they'll get the warmest of Scottish welcomes, kicking off with am ice-breaking ceilidh @ the City Chambers, then four days in an outstanding Victorian venue in central Glasgow Gigs at night at the Concert Hall and City Halls and showcases during the day of our best upcoming talent across traditional, jazz, contemporary classical and rock/pop. I'm nervous as hell, on the run-up. Coiled spring or what?... I've modelled the opening night welcome on the spirit of the ceilidh in Local Hero (maybe the sausage rolls are a mistake?) and hoping I don't kill anyone of a heart attack in the Dashing White Sergeant... www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1iE_NTFhcQ

Oh, they'll survive a Dashing White Sergeant. If you were a Bad Person, you could make them do a 128-some reel: (The General Danced at Dawn, George McDonald Fraser)
Best of luck and I hope it all goes really well. Failing that, the heart repair folks at Clydebank are really good.

I've got 999 on my speed dial, Celyn.... ;D Hell though, the 128-some. That's hardcore ;D We'll be kicking off with a gentle introduction: the Gay Gordons, bit of Canadian Barn Dance, maybe a Bluebell Polka, you know, then into the really hard stuff. Dashing White Sergeant'll sort the wheat from the chaff...then onto Strip the Willow (ooooooer missus ) and for all left standing, yeah it's the 8-some. Here's some posh tw*ts doing the 8-some. www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvHeTArCnYQFeck! There's only 16 or em and I've got 150......I'm thinking my ceilidh event could get messy, lol, hahahahahaaaaa....... ;D ;D ;D
