Sad loss, indeed. One of the good guys. I only heard just now when I got back from the movies. Wolf of Wall St, as bizarre coincidence would have it. Personally, Peony, not sure if you'd agree, but I think we need to get LOUDER and even more persistent, in bringing about social change. With a week to go on Celtic Connections, I imagine there will be many a Pete Seeger tribute at the various shows, and hopefully at the annual Transatlantic Sessions this weekend

Rolo, did you like the movie? I confess it was just a soft Porn kind of thing, the sort of silly Joan Collins things from years ago, seeing a wee bit of breast and the odd naked nubile! De Caprio carried the movie and as the rat who robbed all the ordinary people (not much about that in the movie) wrote the book, there is no way we were going to get the truth. He even ratted out his best friends even though he was the ring leader and he walked away with a 22 month sentence, I wonder how much the Judge was paid, when you consider Madoff got a LIFE sentence for the same thing?

I think we do need to get loud and demanding, but Pete was quietly persistent when everyone else was screaming and burning flags and so on. He inspired so many to carry on, I think. I saw him once in Provo Utah with Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. It was a great concert.

I don't know if you can get the BBC iPlayer on some kind of proxy server but if so, the music documentaries on BBC Four are top-class. Very often feature artists from the 60s, 70s with great/rare concert footage that you might enjoy. It's about the only tv I watch these days...
