Brilliant from Scotland today, edge of your seat stuff in the game against Samoa. Now we face Aus next Saturday in the quarter finals. ITV News here in the UKE just reported that "Scotland Embarrassed England" by winning their game today. (England crashed out of their qualifying group). Nothing like celebrating the success of another nation who won a terrific game by their own merits, eh? But no, it has to be all about England.... So we're in the last eight. This is gonna be FUN!

Poor old England we gave them a real drubbing last week. The first time a host nation has been knocked out in the preliminaries and by Oz too. That was really rubbing it in. They are feeling very upset about their performance and jealous of Scotland.
Beating Samoa is good news for Scotland, was a good game apparently, now they play us in quarters. On form we should win but anything can happen and we cant take Scotland lightly. On a good day the Scots are a formible team.
Oz played the game of the century against Wales last night (15-6) so they are very buoyed up.
A little story about Samoan rugby. A friend of ours, from Idaho then, who posts here from time to time has a son who won a sports scholarship (rugby) at New Mexico University. She went down to visit him and met his team mates, almost all Samoans or Kiwis and attended a Hangi with them (BBQ sort of). Her introduction to Antipodean culture, she loved them and their attitude to life.

Samoan team were fabtastic today, so good to watch. They did this big pretendy-scary thing before kick off, a mad dance routine declaring *war* on the opponents (us)... It was a close run thing and both teams played their wee hearts out. It'll be good to see Scot v Aus next week. Though you get the distinct impression that English commentators are suffering from a severe attack of sour grapes. Ooops. Oh dear, Never mind.

Poor old England must be seething only UK team not to make the quarters. (Scotland, Ireland and Wales did)

Ahaaa a hahahaha haaaa Bring it on! No matter what fixtures in the quarters, you can just hear certain English commentators spitting feathers. Bet you any money the oncoming games will be less covered in the UKE media than if England team were still in. Meanwhile all the teams in the quarters know what true sportsmanship's about. Hurrah! Scot v Aus next weekend. May the best team win

yeh they are all good teams in the quarters. The only one I would dare predict is Ireland beating Argentina. my own personal hope is an All Blacks/Wallabies final but that is just wishful thinking we will just have to wait and see. We play each other a lot and both teams are good so would be some match.
