In yhe last year bombing in Iraq there has NOT been one compaint of a civillian killed. We are NOT carpet bombing ANYWHERE. I am not sure we should be bombing Syria, I would much rather have the Millions spent on our Police Force, training firearms drills to a DECENT STANDARD. They are very very poor but for a couple of ARU groups, there wrre more Police at the Paris shooting than ALL the Police in the UK!! I totally disagree that the majority of muslims in the UK do not have great sympathy for many of the things that people are KILLED for in muslim countries. They also in the majority have great support for many, not all, many terrorist activities. I have a friend who is still serving up here at the moment for a wee while and I think Rolo ( whom I truly believe thinks good about everyone, a kind person ) would be AMAZED at what HAS been found out in this last 8 months. Did you know the Paris Terrorists PHONED CONTACTS IN BIRMINGHAM UK 20 Minutes before they attacked? I will if you are in the Chip some night have a wee chat which might just surprise you!!

The UK are now the 13th country bombing the shit out of Syria - were the other 13 air forces just hanging around waiting on a couple of Brit planes to bomb a n oil refinery, were they incapable of doing it?
Or as Putin has stated, Turkey, the USA and the others were quite happy to buy the oil cheaply, especially a the EU embargo was lifted lat year so the Syrian rebels could sell it on to finance their civil war.
One other thing of note - the Iraqi government asked the UK to bomb Daesh, so that is legal, the Syrian government has only asked Russia & Iran to help out,
The UK is now attacking a sovereign state with the ultimate aim of regime change - a war crime!
Anyways I note also that share prices in arms companies have risen and the western oil companies are queueing up to "take over" the liberated Syrian fields when the time comes.
Other things to note are
1) The Libyan, Afghanistan & Iraq adventures have all been noted successes - positively dens of democracy, freedom, peace and safety
2) Why aren't we bombing the shit out of the financiers of Daesh - Saudi Arabia & Qatar?
3) a barbaric land where people are beheaded, wummins are subjugated, democracy is hated and ruthlessly put downpeople are stoned to death or maimed, rape is allowed and gay folk are tortured and killed judicially - Oh no, not Daesh but SAUDI ARABIA - how come we aren't bombing the shit out of them just for that?

Absolutely right Nota. Turkey is the slyest mover in this shit. Pretending to be friends of the West so as they can get into the Eu! However what I mention still stands, I would still pferer the money spent on bombing to be spent in the UK on our own security!

It doesn't amaze me in the least, Bormes. And one reason why I oppose the bombing of Syria. The perpetrators of the Paris attacks were living in Belgium-- not Raqqa. *Terrorist* cells are everywhere so raining down firepower on just one location is frankly ridiculous and will achieve precisely nothing. I just can't agree with carpet bombing (oh, only one oilfield yes?) when everyone with any IQ whatsoever knows that the Syrian-based Daesh will have gone underground-- leaving civilians who've not yet escaped in their wake. OUR ATTACKING THEM IN REVENGE IS EXACTLY WHAT THEY WANT and Wednesday's Westmonster vote plays right into their hands.

Their application to join EU's been on hold for about three years now and rightly so. Absolutely not ready.

Personally, I would slot them no matter where they are. No uniform, killing and torture of prisoners even women and children. Behaving like Mongol barbarians, well we should take no prisoners. Word would get round quickly.
