On Cleveden Hill. It's about what, 3 degrees maybe? After a high of 8 earlier with a windchill of what feels like -20. I'm having to put on the air-con and chill the red this wine o'clock. Phew.......... Haven't been in what passes for my garden ONCE this 'spring'. Well apart from running helter skelter down the path swathed in sheepskin and thermals... I've planted bugger all-- too frosty yet. Lots of divine weeds though, they do bring SO much to a spring garden I feel I guess we've had wur summer, that nice day we had two weeks back. Cue everyone in the office sneezing like a total bstrd. But hey, still managing a smile. With gritted teeth. What is it LIKE out there? I'm near greetin here.

Same here temps down to about 10c at night (will soon drop to single figures) and up to about 20C during the day.
Chilly!
Sweaters & long trousers on all day now, be looking out jackets soon. Had car heater on for first time this week. Dark now at 5:30pm One month to shortest day! Our little blue tongue lizards have vanished we like to think hibernating
Go out in evening crisp nights makes ears tingle and the smell wood smoke. The stars look very very bright. The odd satellite passing over. Very still the roar of the surf in the background. Jet airliner passing overhead its lights twinkling . Check puter, its QANTAS QF1 bound for Singapore and London a world away
During day skies deep blue. hasnt rained yet this month (Forecast is rain on Sunday) winds out of South straight off the pole. First snow on the Snowies talking about ski season opening early. Wouldnt be surprised if we get a few early frosts (ie hoar frost on windscreen in the morning). Only tourists in swimming now, apart from mad surfers in wet suits.
BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

One month to longest day, Oz! Down Ashton earlier tonight, out come the Weekend Millionaires...boys in short sleeve shirts, girls in toty dresses, bare legs (tanned bright orange) and ridiculous shoes that remind you of Chinese Foot Binding... did their grannies not tell em to 'Ne'er cast a cloot till May's oot"? 40 years of feminism, huh? Yeah, we've really succeeded in building girls' self-confidence, haven't we... I was still chittering in two tops, jaikit, big scarf and boots. As was sis in padded winter coat ;D We auld yins've got winter-weather glamour down to a fine art, don'tcha know.

Sounds just like the Glasgow I remember.
I think I wore my sheepskin jacket about 7 or 8 months a year in Glasgow.... It was made in Dumbarton. I remember once or twice going out without a jacket though.

;D ;D ;D
I've been out of mine I think two days since last September, Oz. Damned expensive they are but.......
I'd spotted one on the rail originally at £450, couldnae afford it. Come the January sales-- when the shops start stocking flimsy summer clothes, I chanced upon the very same (my size! hallefeckinglujah!) hanging on the rail for less than half price. Couldn't believe my luck.
It was still a bit of a stretch but worth every darned penny. I'd invested £160 in a pair of leather Uggs 10 years ago, still going strong, still watertight, still an utter joy to wear, barefoot in the winter ;D
If I was Eck I'd do a deal with our sheepskin manufacturers to give Scots a massive discount. What a boost to the national psyche that'd be ;D

Antartex at Balloch? £45? Hell, you're ancienter than I thought, Oz. What was that in old money? Yeah thats them & yep £SD.When Wilson was your PM or was it Douglas-Hume? Many many years ago. Gave jacket to a friend, not much call for them in Oz. Had to go down to London on business in April, Apple blossom was out there, snow on ground in Glasgow so thought "F*ck this for a game of sojers" so put hard word on Mrs Oz and here we are.
