The Falcon had the option of a 5.4L V8. Used a lot by cops. Friend of mine had one in the bad old days b4 the points system. He was driving from Brisbane to Sydney at night via New England Highway, long long straights. Everything was fine till he got into NSW then he was booked for speeding. Half an hour later he was booked again. The third time he was booked the cop told him to wake up to himself , they were phoning ahead. He was trying to break 10 hours for the 600 miles. (my record was just over 12 hours in a Chrysler Valiant (4.2L straight 6 ) that when I was young and daft He didnt but bloody near broke the bank Falcon GT VG Valiant

Yeah you could buy these in any colour you wanted provided it was red with Go-faster stripes. In its time it was the fastest 4 door production sedan in the world.. Sold quite a few to US. They were big buggers.
