Family heading home, start of Nullabor.... only 900 miles to next town to East (Ceduna SA) This straight is 96 miles long. There are roadhouses about every 150 miles or so. ON way west they saw 1 hill and 1 cloud That is pure Mad Max territory...

New header pic Gt Western Roadat entry to Botanic gardens. Therewas a hoo-haa about that building cant remember whether to be preserved or knocked down.
I think its 1890s or thereby
or
2090s after independence and ladies wearing De-rigeur black bin liners.

I think its 1890s or thereby or 2090s after independence and ladies wearing De-rigeur black bin liners. It's the former Botanic Gardens train station. It was preserved into the late 60s/early 70s when it became the Silver Slipper cafe after the train line from Maryhill via Botanics to Kelvinbridge was closed. The tunnels still remain. It was demolished, sadly, in the 70s.The two tudor style houses next to it still remain at the front gates of the Botanic Gardens.

Here's a pic I took the other day in Rotterdam. I was at a music conference and we managed an hour or so out to have a look at the developments taking place in the city since it was virtually flattened in WW2. Cube Houses. They MESS WITH YOUR HEAD, they really do. Attachments:

These are pics of Markthal, an amazing new build. Inside are food market stalls with restaurants perching on top while to each side and on top of the building are apartments. An amazing mix of art, architecture and commerce. It's absolutely stunning. Attachments:

This was my hideous commute to work each day from the hotel Bilderberg to the conference centre at De Doelen. It's the equivalent of Great Western Road and is a main artery in the city centre believe it or not! As you can see, cars take last place. Trams roll along the middle, on the grassy knolls...while pedestrians and cyclists have right of way over cars. Takes a LOT of getting used to stepping out into the road, trusting cars will stop for you. But they do! I'd love to see this principle implemented in Glasgow. I don't know why we ever got rid of our trams. Such a clean, efficient mode of transport. And both cyclists and pedestrians are totally intimidated by road traffic here. Time for a rethink.
