When Cathy Freeman won the gold for the 1500 metres at Sydney she was handed both the Australian and Aboriginal flags to carry in her lap of honour. Some stupid jobsworth official told her the Olympic rules stated she could only carry the national flag. He was told promptly by the team manager to shut-up and go and do something impossible.
Cathy carried both
The cheering was beyond belief
Damn your closing ceremony is at 6 am Monday. It will be worth the effort

BBBC/LondonBC, Are at it AGAIN? G4S Have been instructed to confiscate Saltires and any YES material, We are going to the Boxing finals I WILL be taking my Saltire, we shall see what happens? No, it doesn't apply to Saltires, Bormes. Just anything that is partisan, politically. Like the Saltires with YES incorporated, and any other YES branding. It's because the footage is being broadcast worldwide by the BBC who must--of course!--remain impartial. <aye, right.. >

Wonderful finale and wonderful games overall..... gives Qld a high standard to try & emulate Incidentally the girl who got up, spontaneously, on stage with Kylie was a Gold Coast athlete who hadnt won a medal and as it was her 25th Birthday she thought what the hell she would never get another chance to dance with Kylie so up she got. She hopes she wont get into too much trouble. Jessica Mauboy aint a bad singer or speaker for a young teenager from the bush. (well she lives in Darwin) I didnt see flotilla ... must have been on b4 finale was broadcast here. Will hunt round ans see if I can find it PS MUCH LATER found it on U-tube ....... WOWWWWWWWW!
