Friend of ours had a Korean Advertising agency hire his house for a glamour advert. His eyeballs have just about returned to their sockets.. The bugger never thought of phoning me Friend of ours had a Korean Advertising agency hire his house for a glamour advert. His eyeballs have just about returned to their sockets.. The bugger never thought of phoning me ;D I believe the going rate for hiring a period WE house to film and ad agencies is about £3000 a day Woman next door did it for the STV precursor to Come Dine With Me. I woke up to ten broadcast trucks, a catering bus, cables everywhere and a tent in her front garden full of luvvies. That was fun! ;D

His house is one of these modern architect (him) designed houses with a large room all glass doors opening on to a patio and a pool. Been used several times foe shoots.
They used our street, before we flitted, a lot for filming "Home and Away" I felt tempted to join queue for free snacks

Aye good luck to the wean -whit will it be advertising? Scottish Ad agency contracted from the Far East to promote a Scottish product over there. Let's just say it's a plentiful resource hereabouts. Take your pick! <clue, not Irn Bru> Ms R was one of six to audition this morning so we're realistic about the odds. What's for her, won't go by her, indeedy Thanks for best wishes, all. ;D <head in hands> Ms R got a call this afternoon that she was on a shortlist of 2. Cue huge excitement and hope. An hour later, agency called back, hellish apologetic, saying a mistake had been made over two lassies with same first name. I'm disappointed for her, of course, but that's life's rollercoaster for ya. She's taking it on the chin, and like me, would wish the very best to the young Scottish girl who will earn £3k+ from the contract. Meantime while Lady Luck didn't shine on the wean this time, yer aul' ma just won £50 on the bonds. So that's a textbook or two taken care of! ;D I'm liking that karma

Well, as it happens, the wean's come down with a hellish heavy cold this weekend so probably would've had to pull out of the shoot anyway. Farting about dressed as a red-nosed sneezing princess on Edinburgh Castle esplanade in what's looking like a helluva snowy few days next week and -2? Nah ;D Fate intervenes. It usually does, I find.

My old boss in Glasgow said that every so often you come to a junction in life , If you take the harder option each time you wont go far wrong

[ Ach well - at least she made the effort - have you told her about "whit's fur ye, wull no' go by ye" Hopefully the agency may have other work the wean can try oot forNews! Wean took herself off the agency books this past three months due to heavy constant studying for her exams----dead important these ones, cos they'll decide whether she gets into Honours or not. She's really been grafting, working harder than I ever did. So what happens, out of an exam period of 5 weeks, she got timetabled to sit her three thus: one last Thursday morning, one last Thursday afternoon and yes, of course, one last Friday morning. You couldn't make it up! She was panicky, I was sanguine and just said to her look, you're being tested, you have to get used to pressure and deadlines, you've done the work through the year, you'll be fine. She needs straight Bs for Honours. Coursework's averaging Bs. Six weeks from now, she'll get her exam results. Meanwhile---her Scottish agency entered her for a mega competition via a mega London agency; so far out of 200+ she's in the final 10. Feck! Even just one decently paid commission would pay her outgoings for year 3 (and hopefully 4) @ Glasgow Uni! Fingers crossed...
