Here's an apparent modern Scottish "socialist" For Oz's info - he's the leader of the apparently "socialist" labour party in Scotland for the moment He's so much a socialist that he's the leading light in the UK of the extremely right wing american Henry Jackson Society- his family apparently were so proud of their socialist background that they emigrated to apartheid south africa

Wasnt Jim Murphy leader of labour party? Has he seen the light? No he wasn't - he has the title of leader of the Scottish LAbour PArty - but as there is no such party registered with our electoral authorities - he's leading the local branch office of the London HQ'd Labour Party The electoral authorities have the Scottish branch listed as a northern area accounting office I never use this word loosely or even regularly but he's a cunt

Jim Murphy is the leader of the (non-existent) Scottish Labour Party.I doubt he has ever done any labouring or, indeed, any work at all. Spent nine years at university - never got a degree, but did get cushy job for himself in the "Labour" party.
Quite likely he moved to Scotland in order to escape military service in South Africa.

So the Murdoch "Sun" likes him.

Too right, Celyn. Murphy spent 9 years at uni in Glasgow, paid for by the taxpayer, got involved in student politics and moved, sans degree, right into working for the Labour Party. He comes over all couthy, in his Scotland footie strip, giving it how he used to glue-sniff in the schemes of Glasgow---all the while holding aloft his Irn-Bru for the cameras. In actual fact he was brought up mainly in South Africa. OH and his party introduced tuition fees. And when not adopting his footie strip for weekend campaigning, I'm told that during the week he wears bespoke suits that cost approx £2000 from a London tailor. Alex Salmond has made a habit of donating half his salary to charity while Nicola Sturgeon has donated her 'payrise' as SNP FM likewise. Some pigs are more equal than others, to be sure.

So the Murdoch "Sun" likes him. How desperate is this one about the dolly's haircut? People are falling about laughing here. The memes are truly hilarious. AND another thing! Those of us in Scotland might be forgiven for wondering why the mass rallies at the weekend in Glasgow have not been covered by the BBC. Thousands of people out on Buchanan Steps and in George Square yesterday but from BBC Scotland, hardly a peep. Oddly enough they seem to have spared a camera team to film Murphy's *rally* at St Enoch Square instead. There were maybe a dozen party activists there, shot at an angle to make them look like a crowd. Except that too, was exposed for what it was. Folks were sending in pics from different angles that showed not only how sparsely populated the *rally* was but also footage of people heckling, which conveniently, the BBC cameras seemed to have missed. Kinda looking forward to the very worst of next week's Tory press efforts. It's like being in The Thick of It.

Sorry last post just reminder me of our fearless leader KRudd. Every time he left for overseas when he got to top of plane steps he would turn round with a huge smile and a big wave at the adoring crowds. One time a TV camera turned and filmed the crowd, 2 or 3 TV cameras and a couple of bored cops in addition to RAAF ground crew bustling around doing their jobs.

The thing is, highheidyin politicians and media types seem to believe they can pull the wool over our eyes.
That's the most hilarious thing and causing HUGE entertainment here again this week.
It's like they think we're daft.

It's like they think we're daft. Same the world over. The only reason we have compulsory voting here, according to our ex trade commissioner in Glasgow, is because if we didnt no one would vote coz they are only politicians. Cynical but not far long. Media isnt so bad manly coz Fairfax & News Ltd are at each others throat so automatically take opposing views. We have 3 Independent TV stations and that helps keep the bastards honest (ABC might as well be Labour party though its supposed to be unbiased)
