I have to admit I was kind of thinking he was doing Scotland some good by bringing a wonderful golfing place to International people and to bring jobs to Scotland, however his prattle about this is ill informed , bombastic, bullying and not in his interest in the long run. I sort of see your point, Bormes, but he can go and build his blasted golf course* somewhere that isn't environmentally sensitive. Anyway, we've got umpty golf courses as it is, and all it does is encourage golfers and they also ruin the aesthetics of anywhere they go 'cos of their strange trousers and daft wee hats. Ghastly man. Also, and I'm too lazy to go a'googling for proof, but doesn't he have form in terms of shouting about great big developments but leaving bankruptcy in his wake? Also, it's a nifty way for Trump to scream and shout and delay (or cancel) his plans, coincidentally just when there's a wee bit of a financial depression and he might not get the mega-profits for which he originally hoped. You know, so that the Donald is not getting cold feet and backing out, oh dear no, it's all a matter of principle, and heaven forfend that anyone should think otherwise. * Except I'm not sure it's a golf course, really. Isn't the plan more like a shitload of houses and a hotel, incidentally with a golf course attached?

Sorry if anyone thought I was defending Mr Trump, I was only thinking it was bringing jobs to Scotland? In fact I don't play golf but I have to say a Golf course is in my opinion normally a very nice green place, I had one (Buchanan Castle) as my boundary next to my farm in Drymen and they were great neighbours, we had a Barley field next to the Farmhouse and my daughter was a wee lassie her, assorted dogs and assorted other wee people would go hunting in our boundary Barley field to then sell back the golf balls found to rather amused golfers !! She was quite enterprising as a wee lassie, she used to do the same at the field entrance at the bridge over the Endrick and ask for 10p. to allow parking and picnicing !! She would undoubtedly be backed up with other wee people holding back the dogs ( the dogs were I suppose meant to be the intimidation, however they were usually panting and tail wagging furiously, so most people came over to pat them, despite being warned by the wee ones, the dogs werte killers !!) Golf !!

From todays SMH Dont shoot the bloody messenger!! The reason she doesn't attend meetings is that she was subjected to abusive behaviour. The questions asked by the commitee have already been answered too, they haven't been paying attention. Also some questions are really for whoever Scotland's first independent government will be - nothing to say it will be the SNP Usually and I believe it's the same in OZ the elected government of the day decide on things such as monetary policy etc. They are asking questions to look "involved" no one is listening to them in reality

It's just becoming a propaganda war now, Oz. In the south that is.
Here in Scotland our government set out a timescale for the referendum. They were voted in on that--plus their manifesto promises.
I believe the vast majority of Scots won't be swayed by the Unionist pressure to hasten a vote. I think it will be viewed as interference.
Our government is under very close scrutiny by the world, it would seem. However the only votes that count here are from the Scottish residents themselves.. and we'll do that in our own very good time.
Not for the first time you have to ask yourself why the Unionist parties are so desperately against independence. And why David Cameron sticks up for the principle of self determination for the Falkland Islands while putting obstacles in the way of his own near neighbours.

Let's keep things simple www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-17064847"Scotland's voters must have a "straight choice" between independence and remaining in the Union, rather than being given a third option if a referendum is held, peers say."

My personal opinion is a straight yes no vote, however the decision should be taken by the current Scottish Government, not Whitehall.

I think it's the most direct and unequivocable way to dispose of the matter.

I think it's the most direct and unequivocable way to dispose of the matter. We're still waiting on you saying what the benefits of Scotland being in the union. But then again LYING FUKKERS like you never ever back up what they assert. No doubt this is due to them being Fukwits and a poor attempt at trying to wind others up. But alas LYING FUKKERS like minime are easily spotted, usually due to their ignorance and windae licking propensities

I think it's the most direct and unequivocable way to dispose of the matter. 'Dispose' of the matter? Hmmmm.... That's an odd choice of word, unless maybe you believe the Scots will vote No in a straight Yes/No question. It's an even odder choice if you believe the Scots will vote Yes. Do you not think this referendum is important then Mini?
